LEAVING LAS VEGAS
Interbike 2016
WHAT'S NEXT?
Mike Kalmbach, owner of ProNet Cycling shares a few highlights
from Interbike 2016—and some insights on what's around the corner
"Interbike's traffic was great the first day and half of the second day – I guess that we have to realize that a 3 days show is now really only 1.5 days! Considering the cost, effort and time in organizing, travel, setup, etc. 'something' has to improve. Since the big bike brands aren’t an integral part of the show maybe the show should move to end of January-February and change the focus to parts and accessories?
We'd love to hear your thoughts! Perhaps, early, first quarter is a better time for dealers to take time away from the shop to enjoy some sun without missing too many customers. Take a look at QBP Frostbike success – they limit the number of dealers attending and they don’t have as many brands as a show would have!
All that being said, we had a great show. Highlights include some of the great press for our brands such as Clement and Effetto Mariposa. We had new inquiries from dealers and had a lot of Latin American visitors. And congratulations to Jamie Driscoll from the Raleigh-Clement Professional Cycling team as he was recognized as Domestic Cyclocross Rider of the Year (male) at the Interbike Awards Gala.”
To all who dropped by the ProNet booth, thank you! Here are some of the show’s highlights:”

INTERBIKE HIGHLIGHTS FROM BOOTH #21037
Cycling Trainers

2016 Cycling Trainers. 2016 Cycling Trainers. The guru of testing products, DC Rainmaker, visited INTERBIKE and has a very nice review and re-cap of what is happening for trainers this fall/winter. This interests me as we worked with ELITE for 17 years and only this year are no longer representing their products. Very cool new products for the entire trainer category: KINETIC SMART CONTROL, CYCLEOPS HAMMER & MAGNUS, ELITE KURA & DRIVO, TACX FLUX & THE STAC ZERO—A Great view and photos courtesy of DC Rainmakers, check them out DC RainMakers Review.
Clement Tires

Clement tires are here to stick. Clement tires may just be the fast growing tires on the marketing today and for good reason—they stick the corners! Just introduced (and is already delivering!) the new BOS (Boston Logan airport code) Deep Mudder CX tire for outstanding traction in super muddy corners and off-cambers. This makes for 4 CX specific tires (PDX, MXP, LAS, BOS) for all riding conditions in either tubeless ready or tube type – one or the other should fit all your course needs. Clement held a 3 days media ride in the US “outback” just before INTERBIKE. Very cool media exposure for some fantastic new wheels.

Cycle Computers

Sigma Cycle Computers
Just across the aisle (again this year) Brian and his crew from Sigma were showing some new cycle computers with GPS – a necessity to know where you are in the great outdoors. Among their dedication to cycling computers, Sigma also designs and sells safety and sports lights, running computers, heart rate monitors, stopwatches, activity monitors and Motorcycle Computers. Check out their very cool Activo activity monitor.

Bike Tools New Entry For Interbike and ProNet
Effetto Mariposa Alberto just approved ProNet’s selling of the entire EFFETTO MARIPOSA products, up for an Interbike award for the Mountain Accessory of the Year. First shipment has already arrived and more inventory is on the way. Torque wrenches are the perfect “guys-gotta-have" tool. Tubeless Ready is hot and the EFFETTO MARIPOSA Caffelatex and Espresso sealer are just as hot.
